In Seville, Spain there is a street called Calle Feria or Feria Street and it is one of the most famous streets in the heart of the city due to its outdoor market hosted every Thursday. The Mercadillo de Jueves or Thursday Market is the oldest of Seville, established in the 13th century, and is known for its variety of antiques and second-hand items.
I was inspired to photograph this market because I love its nostalgic atmosphere. I was also intrigued by the street's fascinating transformation from a public place during the time of the market to a private street on any other day of the week.
With the following sequence of images I present the two lives of Feria Street and how it changes its use of space. Each double image is a comparison of the same point at two different times. This is the DOUBLE LIFE OF CALLE FERIA.
